St. Mary Magdalen Elementary School Reviews
Quality Score: 5 Post Date:2007-05-09
“Three of my children have attended St Mary Magdalen school. We have been there since 1999.They have received a wonderful education. The 1st yr my daughter attended Public school (after 8th grade) she hardly learned anything new. The class size is small so there is more personal attention. The atmosphere gives a sense of well being and security.” This review was posted by a parent.

“The teachers at this school are wonderful as is the new principal, but there are many areas that need improvement. There are lunch time and recess saftey issues that need to be addressed. The parent/family involvement needs to be improved a great deal to keep this school going in the right direction. This is a very small school with a great deal of potential and heart. There is a select group of parents who will do anything and everything to help, but too many who do nothing, yet complain. If you send your child here, they will get a wonderful education. But, get involved and stay involved!! Many will welcome all new families and help with open arms, but some will fight you all the way.” This review was posted by a parent.

“My daughter has been a student at this school for seven years. I am very pleased with the education she has received. The teachers are very involved as are the parents. It is a small school community that teaches values as well as reading/writing and math. I would strongly encourage parents looking for a Catholic education to take a look at St. Mary Magdalen!” This review was posted by a parent.

“This school's focus is the whole child. Academic success is only one of the priorities for this student body. Everyone; students, teachers, coaching staff and parents are expected to bring their personal best to school each day. When a student has a difficult day they continue to be treated with respect while redirected toward positive behaviors. There are lots of opportunities for family involvement with this school community. This involvement allows the children to become a part of the larger community, especially through the many community outreach projects that go on throughout the school year.” This review was posted by a parent.

“I went to this school from 1987 to 1996. and out of those nine years, I enjoyed maybe 3 or 4 teachers, k-grade, 2nd grade,My art teacher, and one of my favorite teachers Ms. McCormick, who actually took time out to help me, who made both history and english my favorite subjects. So I rate the school a 7 , I always said,if I ever have a child I would never send them there, but now I can take that back, since all the teachers who gave me a hard time are now gone. Thanks” This review was posted by a parent.

“If you want you child in a safe school this school is great for the job. Their teachers are involved with their students and care for them just as you would and the coaches for sports teach alot. It is a very small school but friendly although there are a few bullies here and there. As a 7th grade student at Saint Mary Magdalen and I've been there since 3rd grade I would have to say the school is very strict on dicipline, code of conduct and getting a students homework in on time. The parents get along and think alike which keeps the school moving along.” This review was posted by a student.
